     Infra Red— Assisted Hearing System.

What is an Infra Red Hearing System?
In simple terms, an infra Red assisted hearing system is a method of transmitting sound through air using light. For example:  Imagine shining a torch with a very wide beam of light into a dark room full of people - Everybody in that room would be able to see that light.

Imagine the light beam being able to transmit sound as well as light, meaning that everybody in he room can hear the sound.

That is how an Infra Red System works! It is a process of transmitting sound using light.

Frequently asked questions…

Q. There are obstructions in the room, such as columns in a church.
A.
More radiators may have to be added so all participants are in line of sight of a radiator.

Q. Due to the layout of the room, people are facing different ways.
A. Again more radiators may have to be added so all participants are in line of sight of a radiator. Or a single radiator is used that is strong enough to flood the room with IR.

Q. How many participants with receivers can we have in a room?
A.
As many as you like as long as they are in line of sight of a radiator or a single radiator is used that is strong enough to flood the room with IR.

Q. Are the receiver stethosets hygienic?
A.
Yes. You can get replacement ear buds or the buds can be removed and washed in a solution such as a baby bottle sterilising solution.

Q. The participants may feel self conscious wearing the stethosets or loop receivers.
A.
In all our many years of experience with IR, we have found the vast improvement on peoples listening pleasure vastly outweigh any inhibitions people may have about wearing the receivers.

Q. Are there any limiting factors?
A.
Excessive natural light, plasma screens, theatrical or presentation lighting amongst other things may have a detrimental effect on the strength of the IR being emitted. Nevertheless all of these factors can be easily overcome. We recommend that one of our dedicated IR dealers is approached to design and install an IR system.
