We supply specialised call management systems and voice solutions to prisons and detention centres. Designed to aid prison staff and
inmates, they are helping custodial institutions function more safely and efficiently and within current human rights legislation.
Prisoner call management systems
Our telephony management solutions use a credit-based system to facilitate and manage all prisoner calls. Using telephone
units activated by PIN numbers, inmates use their credit to make calls to specific allocated numbers, whilst the system records and monitors the phone activity. The recipient of each call can be
selectively alerted to the source of each call before connection, allowing them to choose whether to receive or reject the call.
What's more, prison staff can use the system as a security tool - recording calls on a selective or blanket basis, listening in as
they happen, storing recordings for future access, plus monitoring call numbers, costs and the selective call recorded will insure inmates telephone calls to their legal representation are not
recorded thereby preserving their human rights.
The benefits
By making prisoner calls completely transparent, our systems offer a valuable management resource - providing each prison with
useful information about inmates and their calling patterns so it can take preventive steps to ease any tension. In addition, the systems can help defuse inmate-inmate and inmate-officer problems,
eliminating the need for watchful officer presence during calls, thereby reducing flashpoints and bullying.
For prisoners, the systems aid communication with relatives, friends and outside support groups, helping them establish important
networks to draw on after release. And because inmates know they are being recorded, they are dissuaded from using threatening or bullying behavior on the phone.
More importantly, by selectively prompting call recipients of their incoming call source, the systems helps safeguard victims of crime
- protecting them from harassment and intrusion. Funding amenities and support
Our systems can provide important revenue for prison initiatives too. In the UK, individual systems have been shown to provide
around 25% of their turnover to prison inmate amenity/goodwill funds.
These funds can be used by facilities to maximize their environment by improving facilities and food, subsidizing calls, resettlement
schemes and reward positive behavior patterns.
Full and flexible solutions
We can tailor the systems we provide to fit diverse applications, supplying solutions for young offender institutions that deliver
pre-determined free calling time, as well as products with added functionality for adult facilities. Whatever your need, we'll configure a solution to suit and back it up with expert installation,
project management and maintenance.
